I have a GE side by side fridge, model PSF26NGWA WW. It uses the MSWF filter. my water stream slowed down quite a bit indicating it's time for a change. I had one on my shelf, installed it and it worked great. Filled a glass in no time. I then bought a box of 3to have some on my shelf for future needs. Well, the future is here. The last one worked well for 3 months. I opened the box, installed one. Very weak stream went down to a drip then nothing. reinstalled it, same thing. Opened another, initially a very strong stream lasted a few seconds, down to a weak stream similar to the 3 month old filter. I don't want to try the 3rd until I hear from GE.

I gave a two (2) star rating because I cannot get the filter to work. Per U-Tube search results, it appears as there is an air lock that I have not been able to remove. I will change this rating if the problem is resolved and not a problem with the filter.

I have replaced my GE Profile Refrigerator MSWF filter several times. This past month the drinking water feature on front of refrigerator stopped working. I Googled this issue and one of the issues they mentioned is that your water filter may need to be replaced. Since my existing filter was about a year old, I ordered a new one and viola! once I installed the new MSWF filter the drinking water function began to work again.

We have tried 3 GE Smartwater MSWF filters in our refrigerator which has always used these filters an none have passed water through to the spigot on the front of the refrigerator- looking at the top of the filter they seems to have some minor changes in the size and type of the holes suggesting product modifications may be the issue.

It fit (unlike the NEWER generics). It did NOT fill with water before insertion; it erupted with air for a day after installation. About 4 times the cost of the OLD generics that did fit.

Shipped biohazard to my home - used filters

Do NOT order these filters. Instead of sending new filters as advertised, biohazard was sent to my home - used dirty filters covered with black mold and leaking dirty water. Note that legal requirements for shipping biohazard (packaging and labeling) were not followed. Instead of providing a refund or shipping new filters, they have demanded that I ship them back without providing appropriate packaging or labeling for biohazard (meaning that I would be forced to illegally ship biohazardous material).

Super easy to remove the old filter and install the new one. Water tastes great, the water pressure is better too. Though it was a bit more expensive than other retailers, I highly recommend paying the extra money since you know you are getting quality.

Once installed as instructed. The device does not work as advertised. I have very poor water flow. Worse even than before the old one was replaced. I contacted the GE help center and was informed that I needed to pay an additional amount to service the part.

The GE - MSWF water filter is easy to install and provides excellent filtered water for my household. I use the water for all of my cooking and to fill my dog's water dish every morning or whenever it requires refilling. My coffee, tea, and meals have never tasted better as a result of using the filtered water from my refrigerator. I highly recommend this filter for any GE refrigerator that will accommodate it.
