One small problem

The unit did not sit evenly. Added felt shims to 3 of the feet and 4 shims to the 4th foot. Now level and balanced. This oven may have been dropped during shipping and is bent. After we use it a few times we will know more.

It is nice to see that you can still get a jumbo size microwave and still get a 1200 watt one from GE. The very large and max power ones seem to be very hard to come by anymore from anywhere else.

This is our fourth GE Microwave. I guess we are pretty hard on them. Anyway, all of the hardware matched and we installed it ourselves. We had two problems. There weren't enough screws to install it but we found 2 screws in the garage that worked. More importantly, the door would not open. How very clever of you to put the Quick Guide INSIDE THE MICROWAVE OVEN THAT WOULD NOT OPEN. Thank you google.

Reliable and Easy to Use

This is outstanding reliable model. We have used the previous version for 15 years before it finally stopped working, Easy to use for cooking and reheating. The only issue we have had is the door latch tends to stick if we press the release slightly off-center, otherwise all other features have performed well. It is quiet as well.

I had this same micowave for about 18 months. I loved it!! The heating element went out. Everything else worked great. You would've thought it was working. The fan, light, turntable and clock all worked and it sounded great. When the food was done it was COLD still. I went and bought this one and hope it does not quit that soon!

I love that it will hold a large dish and I also like that fact that the popcorn button is exact for microwave popcorn. It pops almost all of the kernels leaving maybe 4-5 that didn't pop compared to other microwaves where you had 10 to 20 that didn't pop.

A great replacement microwave

Purchased from Amazon. Well packaged, no damage. Very similar in size & capacity to my previous 21 year old GE microwave. Large 2.0 capacity, bright interior, well laid out controls. All the normal features of cook, defrost, etc.. Not a fan of the child lock button feature mandated by the government, disengaged it immediately. You can also lock controls with the keypad, a great feature that doesn™€™t intrude. NO trim kit available, which is a big downside. Made my old one work with some ™€œpersuasion™€, as I had taken all measurements prior to ordering. Seems to work great, reheats (seemingly) quicker than my old one, but I™€™ve only had it a few days. Time will tell, but so far I like & recommend it.

We bought this model to replace our 17-year-old GE microwave (JEB1860SM1) which I loved. The features and controls are very similar, and the ovens look identical to each other. I expect this model to perform as well as our previous one did. This model does have a larger turntable. I also like the curved corners in the back which makes cleaning easier. We were also able to reuse the trim kit which was a plus.

I purchased this microwave as a replacement for a GE profile that had only lasted eight years. This particular model that I™€™m reviewing was very noisy. It seemed like it wasn™€™t as well made as previous microwaves and overall we just weren™€™t satisfied with it. We had the microwave all of a day and we ended up returning it. The price point was fantastic but it almost made you wonder why it was so inexpensive so we returned it. The design was similar to the GE profile that we had but the performance was really lacking.

This is the second time I™€™ve bought this model. The one that just died this morning had a tag that said it was mfg.™€™d in 2009, so I would say we got our money™€™s worth in 17 years of daily use. Easy to use, control panel is super user-friendly. I considered a brand that had the inverter technology, which would have been the only reason to consider a switch, but in the end, the reliability of the GE model is what convinced me to stick with a tried and true unit. In fact, I seem to recall I had a GE before the one I just replaced.

My old GE (circa 2009) je1640 1100 watts heated a cup of water to boiling in one minute. After 1 minute on this new machine water was only 137 degrees . Had to run for another minute to get it to boil. Really disappointed. Will have to redo all my microwave recipe timing!

I am replacing a 16 year old microwave that™€™s looks exactly like this one. All the buttons are the same, only difference seems they have an extra button on side for child safety lock which can be disabled. I did disable it. Just hoping it works as well as the one that finally gave up. Can™€™t complain about an appliance that works fantastic for 16 years and cost around $300.

The information book should not be in the microwave. does not explain how to use the child safety lock on the box anywhere. I found it by accident and was going crazy trying to figure out how to open it before that. You should tape the booklet to the top of the outside of the microwave.
